A night of great music for a great cause is coming to Canterbury, U.K. on October 15

Earlier this summer, Herne CE Junior School in Herne Bay, Kent, U.K. lost one of its most long serving teachers to cancer. Due to this, some of the staff and some local musicians have organized a gig in her memory and in aid of the Pilgrim’s Hospice where she spent her last days. The gig will be held at the Archbishop’s School in Canterbury on October 15 from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Each band or performer has a connection to the school, either as an ex-pupil or as a member of staff. The ages of the bands range from teenagers to musicians in their fifties and the musical styles are diverse too, crossing many genres from gentle, solo acoustic to get-on-your-feet party covers, so there should be something for everyone. Performers confirmed so far include, Daylight Saving (jazz/funk), Craig Francis (solo/acoustic), Mouse Garner (solo/acoustic), Spyplane (folk/rock duo) and Spex (classic covers) with more to be confirmed. That is a lot of bands for your money!

Tickets are £5 for adults and £2 for under 16s and are available from the Herne Junior School reception, from the bands, at the door, or from Sherrie Tappenden (07704 676417).
