Are Indie Record Stores Really Threatened?

Perhaps not according to Record Stores: We’re Fine Thanks where a number of indie record stores have indicated that they consider music filesharing “like radio, another form of promotion that spurs sales.” One interesting point to me was the statement from one store owner that “High prices, rather than file sharing, are what usually stop a kid from buying a CD.” An interesting read and something to think about in these confusing times. I still think your local indie record store is threatened but at least there seems to be some hope.
