In its 25th year, Independence Rock has invited the winners of global Battle of the Bands® series from the Canada, the U.S., UK, Europe, Asia, and Australia to play, and to compete for the title of ‘Best Band in the World’. As the largest operator of Battle of the Bands® concerts in North America, Supernova.com is proud to be selecting both the US and Canada representatives of indie rock at the 25th Independence Rock Festival.

Any band of legal drinking age can sign up to play for their chance at a trip to India. Each individual Exposed and Band on the Run to India show (Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, Milwaukee, Buffalo, Dallas, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Ottawa) will hold a vote to advance ONE winner to the National Online Vote at the end of June 2010.

The National Online vote will determine the top 3 bands in Canada and the top 3 bands in the US. The finalists will then be judged by a panel of industry heavyweights, including Victor Mijars (Director of A/R, Warner Music Canada), Andy Curran (SRO/Anthem, Manager of Rush, Thornley), and Joel Baskin (founder, The Pilot Agency).

The panel will collectively select one winning band from Canada & one from the US, to each win an ALL expenses paid trip to India this August, including:

- Return airfare for you and your band (up to 5 members) to Mumbai, India

- 3+ star hotel accommodations for 3 days

- Spending money

- A guaranteed timeslot at Independent Rock 25 to compete for $50,000 in prizes!

Band registration is open from April 12th until May 20th, 2010, but space is limited and bands are urged to sign up immediately. Registration fee is $25 per band, or bands can contact jordanh@supernova.com to see if they qualify to have Supernova.com cover the fee.
