Civet- “Massacre” (Disaster Records)

Civet_1 They label their music “Femme Fatale Punk Rock” and man do they mean what they say! Civet are a great, nasty, noisy punk-rocking four piece from Southern California that ooze attitude and sexy sleeze while rocking out with complete punk abandon. Loud and proud, after listening to their album Massacre on Disaster Records all I can say is that I wouldn’t want to piss these girls off. While you will hear comparisons with everybody from the Runaways to L7, don’t let comparisons get in the way of you enjoying this CD since their fercocious riffs and venom-inflected lyrics are the real deal. Listen to State Line and Extra and get ready to be blown away. You just can’t fake this stuff, something maybe Courtney Love should take note of these days. Great loud punk rock sung by cool chicks just in time for summer, what can be better?
