Has the “holy grail” of Beatles memorabilia been found?

According to the Sydney Morning Herald article “Beatles ‘treasure’ found in old case: report” (registration required) some guy in Australia bought an old, battered suitcase at a flea market that reportedly contains tapes from the late Beatle roadie Mal Evans personal collection. Amongst the 400 photographs and concert programs are apparently sealed tapes from Abbey Road containing alternate versions of “We Can Work it Out” plus unreleased material. “It was like finding the end of the rainbow in Australia” the lucky guy, one Fraser Claughton was quoted as saying. If this turns out to be true, Apple Corps should release the material in about, oh thirty years.
UPDATE! The always reliable Beatles News Briefs has some updates to this story indicating that this might not be the find some people are claiming it to be with most, if not all of the audio being available elsewhere and the “lost” track being a John Lennon solo demo from the late ’70s.
Later.
