Billboard reports that Kanye West is rumored to be working with Q-Tip, RZA, and Pete Rock on his next album, tentatively titled Good Ass Job and due this summer. But that’s not all that’s keeping Kanye busy.
For a couple years now, hip-hop asshole Suge Knight has been trying to sue Kanye over a 2005 incident in which the one-time West Coast titan was shot in the leg at a party hosted by West. Now, according to an AP report, the federal suit is set to see a courtroom on December 6 in Miami. Knight is seeking damages of more than $1 million.
This might just be a last-ditch attempt for the bearded thug to crawl out of financial ruin (he filed for bankruptcy in 2006), but it’s almost worth it for the quotes from his lawyer, Marc Brumer, who recently said of his client, “He’s an icon in the music industry. He walks in a room and he lights it up.” Perhaps hinting at his courtroom strategy, Brumer claimed, “Nobody likes Kanye West anymore. Even though he’s still selling millions of records, everybody’s sick of him.” (Via Miami New Times.) Maybe he’ll get Taylor Swift on the stand.
