  1. This is even less useful and relevant than the perennially god-awful Playboy music poll. It’s amazing the participants can see where they’re going considering where their heads are obviously lodged.

  3. This is ridiculous: Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow at 74th position? No Kiss? No Scorpions? Etc. And the worst thing: Cradle Of Filth at 27th? (they don’t deserve 27000th)

  4. Machine Head is one of the top 5 most influential British albums. I fail to understand why DP do not get the respect that they are due…..

  5. Just found out about this upcoming contest in NYC. Anyone know about Reason? A buddy was talking about it, but I don’t know how good it is for indie rock. Looks really cool anyway. Anyone hear about it? Cool that they are looking for rock and punk instead of just rap, etc. First giant freaks flying into the hudson, now this….Nice!

  6. A band that always gets forgotten in these british lists is “king crimson” but i kind of suspected it as pink floyd is No 38 while in most other top 100 lists they are usually always in the top 10. If bands like Stereophonics can make it high in these lists then surely original bands from the late 60’s like king crimson should make it in at least once.

I’m just glad that sabbath made it number 1, they inspired and spawned 1000 similar bands but noone from the uk has ever come close. I just wished that master of reality made it higher, other than that i’m happy with the list

  7. i think that the most influential bandas should be at the top… where’s judas priest? where’s deep purple? they’re low…. and where’s the live albums of maiden? they are the best indeed… where’s bruce dickinson? well… that’s all….

  8. At last some appreciation for the albums ‘Iron Maiden’ and ‘Killers’.

The Di’anno days were the absolute best.

  9. This list is alright, I’m happy the Sex Pistols are finally getting the recognition they deserve in countdowns like these.

  10. List was a bit crap but glad to see Sisters Of Mercy and Pink floyd getting mentioned, althought not as high as they should have been, judas priest, Iron MAiden and Led Zeppelin deserved it

but were was wishbone ash, Argus is definetly one of the greatest, if not the greatest brittish album ever

  11. Tell me something Kerrang… Why the HELL isn’t
THE BEATLES Revolver or THE ROLLING STONES Exile On Main Street listed on here? And you didn’t reply and you erased my last posting what’s the deal? Where the HELL are they, GOD-DAMN, I want some damn answers… please

  12. Tell me something Kerrang… Why isn’t
THE BEATLES Revolver or THE ROLLING STONES Exile On Main Street listed on here? (Happy… now?)

  13. Pink floyd that low down?
And was appetite for destruction like banned from the list or something. That album should easily be in the top 20 (in my opinion higher).

I also agree with Karl Marx on the beatles revolver album – not even on the list with half of the albums on here being pretty crap. Led zeppelein do desrve there place on the list as I, II, IV and physical grafiti are amazing

  14. this is a load of old rubbish! they didnt include albums like (whats the story) morning glory?-oasis or parklife-blur…

and they missed out one of the greatest albums of all time: ok computer by radiohead!!

    kerrang. is. shite.

  15. People are mentioning all these albums that are absent from the list, like Blur’s Parklife, and they aren’t even rock albums. Some people clearly have no idea what Kerrang is all about. God knows how crap like The Darkness or Stereophonics got in the list, and why are Muse in the top 10? And although they’re not too bad, I question the high placings of Ash too.

Led Zeppelin II should have been number 1 because it was the blueprint for hard rock, the entire music scene that Kerrang covers. Kerrang probably wouldn’t have existed if it wasn’t for Led Zeppelin. And its a total travesty that The Who weren’t in the list. Have you heard of them Kerrang? They were quite popular once…

  16. why are the Who not on this list!? Who’s next is one of the greatest albums of all time, not to mention Live at leeds and Quadrophenia!

  17. Where the hell r the beatles sg. peppers lonely heart club band hello u put muses absolution and u dont that i mean sure muse is gd but the ammount of influence every single album of the beatles is amazing and wht about pink floyd or even ramones and rolling stones u lot r stupid u only care about fuckin emo music

  18. Obviously Rainbow Rising should have been No.1 ! But I’d have probably chosen an entier Top 10 of Blackmore’s work including some of the recent Blackmore’s Night, but they’re not so Rock! Absolutely wonderful music though! What about Rock Goddess, Girl, Boston, GILLAN. !!!
Long LIve Rock ‘n’ Roll ! Jesus loves you!
