Moving to Linux

As some of you may or may not have noticed, I have added the book Moving to Linux: Kiss the Blue Screen of Death Goodbye! by Marcel Gagne to my reading post recently. Why? Well I have cautiously begun to dip my toes in the new and nerve wracking world of the Linux operating system. My reasons for trying out Linux are quite simple. I am looking for something stable, safe and efficient to operate The Rock and Roll Report with and Linux is now at a point where it can be considered a legitimate contender for desktop use. Not only that but I have a couple of PCs hanging around of Windows 98 vintage that could actually be put to work as opposed to gathering dust and Linux is probably the best bet for them. I’ll let you know how it goes but for any of the approximately 2% of Linux users that read this site I would love to hear your thoughts on Linux on the desktop.
Later.
