The Rock and Roll Report is a place to go when you are tired of the same music played over and over on commercial rock radio. Playing great rock and roll from indie and unsigned bands.

New York Rocks

November 23, 2004 by Mark Boudreau

You might have seen this on the Music News section of this site but on January 25th Koch Records will be releasing what sounds to be a great compilation CD called "New York Rocks." Featuring a compilation of "seminal New York punk tracks"  "New York Rocks" will feature  both the well-known and the obscure. Here’s the track list:

"Rock & Roll," the Velvet Underground

"Blitzkrieg Bop," the Ramones

"Ask the Angels," Patti Smith
"
(I Live For) Cars and Girls," the Dictators

"See No Evil," Television

"X Offender," Blondie

"Let Me Dream If I Want To," Mink DeVille

"Born To Lose," the Heartbreakers

"Blank Generation," Richard Hell and the Voidoids

"You Can’t Put Your Arms Around a Memory," Johnny Thunders

"Sonic Reducer," the Dead Boys

"Crocodile Tears," the Mumps

"Cheree," Suicide

"Max’s Kansas City 1976," Wayne County and the Back Street Boys

Sounds pretty cool to me. I knew that Koch put out more than Ringo Starr’s solo stuff! (I kid because I love!)
Later.
