The Rock and Roll Report is a place to go when you are tired of the same music played over and over on commercial rock radio. Playing great rock and roll from indie and unsigned bands.

Now this is rock ‘n Roll! The New York Vaults

My Space is certainly a treasure trove of cool music and if my first “find” is any indication I’ll be a busy Canadian beaver for some time although I must admit that I got the heads up on this band from the fine folks at Garage Pop Records.

The New York Vaults according to their press joyously pillage the reckless musicianship of the New York Dolls, the Stooges, the MC5, the Ramones, Golden Earring and, if the ears are not liars, occasional heavy doses of Motorhead and E. Power Biggs, thanks to the thunderous pipe organ of “Motor City Overture.”

Based on their 4 songs on My Space I am hooked already. They’ve got it all: high energy, raw power and some great vocal harmonies on “Stoned Faces” that just sucked me in. They have just released a brand spanking new record called Fuel Your Fascination that I am trying to get my hands on so look for a full review soon. A great band that certainly encompass everything that I look for in rock and roll. Have a listen and see for yourself.

Later.
