This month’s Triple R Girl is a walking music encyclopedia from Sacramento, California. Kristin Marie is an esthetician and model by day but music is an integral part of what she is all about and one of the reasons she was chosen as this month’s Triple R Girl. We let Kristin Marie tells us a bit more about herself.
For me, besides love and music, nothing else exists. In addition to rock and roll (I am obsessed with Bert McCracken and The Used!)I am a huge fan of rhythm and blues as well as folk. I think it’s phenomenal that John Mayer and Brett Dennen have a way of putting rhythm & blues into their songs in a fashion that the younger generation can get into. Its amazing how everyone can be in the same room when a Rhythm & Blues song is being played and even if the song doesn’t have lyrics, everyone knows exactly what the song is about and feels it within themselves. I have always believed that good music is the type where you can feel it throughout your entire body.
Besides modeling for amongst others Jagermeister and UFC I have been in several music videos including one for the indie movie Red Velvet. On top of that I book shows and bands for local music venues as well as being involved in the recording process of bands in addition to managing a number of local bands and musicians. I love underground music and whenever I meet someone who hasn’t heard of a certain band I run home and make them a CD! Some cool bands the readers of The Rock and Roll Report should check out if they haven’t already would include: Avenged Sevenfold, Chiodos, Underoath, Saosin, Ours, Mae, Coheed and Cambria, Dance Gavin Dance, Muddy Waters, Bo Diddly, Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Brett Dennen, The Used, Manhattan Orchestra, Kings of Leon, He Is Legendand Evaline. As you can see, music is my life and I would love to open a practice spot in the future to help bands perfect their art.
Not only am I excited about being this month’s Triple R Girl but I am pumped to be joining The Rock and Roll Report as a regular contributor. I will be bringing to you some incredible bands that you may not have heard of but deserve to have a listen to. Like I said at the beginning, besides love and music, nothing really exists and I hope you will love the music that I bring to you in the virtual pages of The Rock and Roll Report. I know that I am excited to let you know what music has caught my ear and my heart.
