The Rock and Roll Report is a place to go when you are tired of the same music played over and over on commercial rock radio. Playing great rock and roll from indie and unsigned bands.

Elvis was the greatest entertainer of all time and his influence on all artists who followed him is immmeasurable. He was the whole package - he had the talent, the voice, the looks, the charisma and was extremely humble to go with it which is more than can be said for other 'so-called' Kings. He sang in virtually every musical genre available to him because he wished to unlike most other entertainers who only sing in one or two. Elvis, of course, was more than just an entertainer but quite an historical figure. He was the one that broke down social and cultural barriers in 1950's U.S.A. making it easier for all artists who followed in his footsteps. He paved the way for Dr. Martin Luther King in the 1960's.

He remains the biggest record seller of all-time worldwide.

I found the snippets of infornation in the article enlightening.

We will never see the likes of Elvis again. He was truly 'sui generis'.

And your number ten is what I'll be getting back to work on after my RnR R break. It's why my birthday has always sucked big time since 1977 and will continue to do so for until the twelfth of never.

He is the who, what, where and why on so many things in my life (including the reason I'm here at RnR R right now) and I'm not the only one. He's how come the only place I really want to be, every August and January is Memphis, although after all this time it doesn't look like I'll ever get there.
