Quickie NME news on Jet, The Hives, Libertines, Pixies, and the Thrills

All kinds of goodies at NME site today.
Jet have had to pull out of this year’s edition of Glastonbury due to a serious family illness.
The Hives are back on stage and tearing it up in London according to the NME. They are playing some new stuff in addition to past favourites and are hitting the rest of Europe and North America over the next few months.
Speaking of tearing up the stage in London, The Pixies are apparently playing some of their best shows ever.
In the latest episode of the Libertine’s soap opera, their manager Allan McGee insists that they will not be breaking up. No news on what will happen with their upcoming commitments including Glastonbury. UPDATE! After a quick surprise gig, the band has canceled their appearance at Glastonbury while Pete Doherty has gone to a Thai monastery (I’m not making this up!) to recover.
Finally, I am looking forward to the upcoming second album of the Thrills which will be featuring guest appearances by Peter Buck and Van Dyke Parks. The new album will also feature one of my favourite song titles “Whatever Happened To Corey Haim?”
Later.
