I have been taking pleasure in writing for Rock and Roll Report for some years now. Ever since I first joined the team here my musical tastes have been aroused and inspired by the sheer amount of fantastic material which is being produced by an ever increasing variety of bands and artists.
I am not being disrespectful to any band or artist, irrespective of size or stature but at the moment time, or an ever increasing lack of it means that material that lands in my inbox really does need to stand out loud and proud in order for me make time to cover it here on the Rock And Roll Report. If you also have a passion for music and fancy helping out please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Please excuse my short digression, I will now tell you a little more about Rhinos Revenge. The band is fronted by Status Quo’s bass man John ‘Rhino’ Edwards who provides bass and vocals. Rhinos Revenge also has Johns son Freddie on guitar while nephew Billy plays drums. Matthew Starritt provides additional guitar, harmonica and backing vox.
The first Rhinos Revenge album was released back in the year 2000 and the fifteen year gap between releases should come as no surprise when the main man has been so busy with Status Quo. John ‘Rhino’ Edwards has also played with The Climax Blues Band and also Dexys Midnight Runners. With this amount of experience along with the strong family bond within the band you can expect and certainly get a tight sharp sound. This is purveyed with a truly joyful punch creating an album which I find to be thoroughly compelling and addictive. Rhino’s Revenge II’ is due for release on Friday 23rd October 2015.
