Rock and Roll can save the world, or at least help it to be a more humane place

Word has it that British charity Oxfam will be introducing a music download service in Europe with a portion of the proceeds going to help the group fight poverty and raise funds for humanitarian aid according to the Reuters story Oxfam Enlists Music Downloaders to Fight Poverty. To me this is a great idea and assuming that the economics make sense it is a much better idea than the “charity” album so popular in the past as to me this offers the possibility of generating ongoing revenues as opposed to the one-off bubble of when people buy charity albums and then forget about them a week later.
