Sonicbids The preferred method to submit your music to The Rock and Roll Report is by Sonicbids. Sonicbids is the standard way for music industry professionals to send and receive press kits online.

If you do not have a SonicBids account you can also submit your music direct by sending us 2-3 high bitrate, tagged MP3 files for us to check out. Email your files to rockandrollreportsubmissions@gmail.com. Alternatively, you can send us your MySpace page address where we can have a listen but consider that as a last resort.

Always remember to include a bio as well as any pertinent information you think we can use as well as a contact address.

Due to the volume of CDs we receive, we are trying to reduce the amount of CDs that we get in the name of the environment if for anything else. MP3 files allow us to take your music with us and really get a feel for it. If we like what we hear we will then ask you to send us a physical CD or better yet, to email us the remainder of the CD.

Why Submit Your Music to a Podcast?

In this day of music piracy and “free” music downloading, why would you want your music to be featured on a free radio show that ultimately is an MP3 download? Very simply by having your music featured on the Rock and Roll Report Podcast you are getting your music into the ears of thousands of enthusiastic rock and roll fans looking for something new that they don’t get to hear on mainstream media. On top of that, because we only play music we love we are enthusiastic supporters of the bands and artists we play and we make sure that we do what we can to make your name and website visible and available to those fans as well as ways that they can buy your music. We love to turn on music fans to great rock and roll! Just make sure you have the rights to your music to give us the permission to play it. This copyright_disclaimer (unfortunately heavy on the legalese) will help you answer that question.

Selling your Music

If your music is not available online, you are missing out on an important avenue of sales. At the very least you should look into getting your stuff on to iTunes, Amazon, eMusic and CD Baby. If you submit your music through CD Baby they will take care of setting you up on services like iTunes so you don’t have to. When you submit your music to us, make sure you let us know what service your music is on so that we can include a link for fans to buy it from.

Video

If you have a cool video you would like us to play on Rock and Roll Report TV just send us the link (YouTube preferred) and we will check it out. If we like what we hear and see we will put it up on Rock and Roll Report TV.

Final Words

We are very lucky that we get a large quantity of music submissions to The Rock and Roll Report. There is so much great rock and roll out there that we have not heard and we welcome and listen to all submissions with open ears. That being said, we only play and feature those bands and artists that we personally enjoy. The purpose of The Rock and Roll Report is not to be a general music review site but a personalized filter by the writers and podcasters who publish the content and as such we only highlight music that floats our boat. If your music does not get played or reviewed here don’t fret. While it may not be our cup of rock and roll tea, there are enough music blogs and podcasts out there that it will find a welcome smile somewhere. Don’t give up!
