When a band is formed, things usually go with the flow naturally, as the time goes by. However, having an objective, a previous planning is something that can help effectively. This is the case of Vougan, band which had its base formed in July, 2005 by former members of Dark Avenger, Acácio Carvalho, G Zus e Hugo Santiago. The line-up was fulfilled in September the same year and set up with Acácio Carvalho (drums), G Zus (bass), Hugo Santiago (guitars), Rafael Galvão (keyboards, ex-Dark Avenger) and Carlos Zema (vocals, Heaven’s Guardian).
Tyler is a seasoned musician and song writer. While playing guitars (electric and acoustic) for the legendary rock band Great White – performing benefit concerts for the families of the victims who died in The Station fire in Rhode Island – he was contacted by Ivan Gospich, founder of Mandatory Music Group. Ivan offered him a contract to make a CD and Tyler accepted.

Loudmouth is a ska/punk band that is serious about partying. 5 guys from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky that play loud, fast, and tight, reminiscent of the early Fat Wreck bands. They do this without sounding like a regurgitation of the past, and without losing their sense of fun or humor. “We like to have fun, and we like to play music, if we can combine those things and make a living out of it, then that’s the life we want to live.” says Mike their guitar player and co-founder.
“There are literally thousands of “bands” in New York City; Fixer are rock stars, they just don’t have a platinum record yet. They look more Sunset Strip than Bedford Avenue, not afraid of excess in either their music (balls to the wall raunchy hard rock in the style of early Guns ‘N’ Roses) or appearance. What I love about this band is that they treat every fucking show – even a Thursday night in Brooklyn – like it was a CD release party, a photo shoot, and New Year’s Eve all rolled into one.
“With their backstage antics, high voltage performances and little “indescretions,” NYC’s Fixer are the epitome of Rock and Roll…galvanizing showmanship…heavy guitar and drums…Saffer’s vocals are astoundingly melodic.” —
The Rock Princess sat down with Fixer and this is what they had to say:
kNoT tHe RaDiO is a 3pc. band from Hanover, Pennsylvania playing mostly original tunes around the local music scene for over ten years. Doc and Ray, the founding members of a band called Jimson played together for awhile with various artist before Frizz came along. With Frizz in the band, a new flavor was added and a slightly different direction for the bands future. For years, the threesome progressed and constantly put out new songs with a total of about 80+ original songs to date. Recently a new guitar played has joined the crew, tho much younger than the rest of us, he seems like a good fit for the group both socially and musically.
Steven Talbott had made a name for himself in the 90’s as one of the top vocalist in the Los Angeles area with the hard rock band “The Gutter Boys” playing to sold out crowds in the best clubs. With the coming of the new millennium, Steven was to re-invent himself as the lead guitarist for the Pop-Rock band “Love Toyz”. Turning the county, receiving national radio play of their CD “Bitter Fruit” and spots in “Guitar World Magazine”. During his time in Love Toyz, Steven sharpened his song writing skills and vocal abilities getting ready to open his wing for a solo gig that would be the most rewarding and challenging feat to date.
This week due to a major failure in my counting abilities I only played 9 songs instead of 10. Chalk it up to some over indulgence in egg nog…
