The LA Weekly has an interesting piece entitled “3 Myths About the Record Industry Debunked” which basically debunks the myths that:
1. File trading will make selling recorded music a non-viable business proposition;
2. Record sales are down and it is getting worse;
3. Musician’s no longer need the record industry as they turn to the Internet for all their D.I.Y. needs.
It is an interesting read as it really goes to show that sometimes things are not necessarily how they appear at first glance. More fodder for a debate that never ends!
