The New MP3.Com

CNET, who purchased and then will close MP3.Com has announced that they will be opening a new service next spring for independent musicians. Unfortunately, everything in the MP3.Com database will be lost after December 2nd so if you uploaded anything to MP3.Com in the past, you better make sure you have copies kicking around somewhere. Will the “new” MP3.Com actually help independent musicians broaden their distribution horizons? Only time will tell since CNET are not releasing many details of their new service but as in all things digital, check them out as soon as they come online and read the fine print! These are the folks behind Download.com which has done a lot of good stuff for independent software developers.
Later.
