What do you want the Internet to be?

Since The Rock and Roll Report owes its’ very existence to the Internet, and since I believe that the ‘Net is an incredible public resource to resources not just related to rock and roll but to other issues vital to the common good, I read Canadian law professor Micheal Geist’s article What Do You Want The Internet To Be? with considerable concern. While this particular article relates to Canadian Internet policy don’t be too sure that this line of thinking is not prevalent in countries other than Canada. I urge you to read the article and if you are Canadian go to Professor Geist’s website with some ideas of what you can do to prevent the Internet from becoming merely a corporate toll road instead of a publicly accessible information highway. The soapbox is now closed.
