CD Review: Len Price 3 – Pictures (Wicked Cool Records)

len price 3Shades of the Klassic 60’s Kinks and the early Who! Mod powerhouse band the Len Price 3 have scored big time with their third album. With most of the bands who brought the energy back to rock and roll in the late ’90’s/early-00’s having disbanded or entering an extended rest period, the Len Price 3 have stepped up to the plate and decided to keep true rock and roll fans sated by releasing a new CD filled with the high energy rock and roll of the days of yore accented and beefed up with a modern sound that rocks as hard as Brock Lesnar’s right hand. Gut-punishing bass and powerhouse drumming accent a plethora of dirty, sleazy, and gritty guitar sounds to create rock and roll as visceral and powerful as anything I’ve heard in a long while.

Notice that the label releasing this disc is the marvelous Wicked Cool, which has ties to Little Steven Van Zandt of Bruce Springsteen’s band and the Underground Garage radio show (not to mention he played one bad fella in the HBO show The Sopranos) which means it is sanctioned by one of the last true warriors of rock and roll so you know it has to be good, right? Get this if you are a fan of raucous rock and roll as these boys deliver! In fact, search out this band’s earlier releases for a little more of the same. You won’t go wrong with whatever disc you end up buying. Sure, it may sound the same, but you don’t mess with perfection and if it ain’t broke don’t fix it etc. etc. Are you still reading this drivel? Pick this disc up now and be a part of the rebirth of rock!
