Well progress on the Rock and Roll Report Podcast is moving ahead on several fronts. I have ordered a brand new, Canadian-made microphone from Kel Audio and I am trying to make heads or tails of my Tapco mixer and Audacity software. My brand new Dell desktop is sitting in the living room in boxes (well actually it’s for my son but I will use it temporarily until I can order my MacBook!) ready to be set up and I am in the middle of contacting bands and labels to see if they are interested in getting involved (if you are, contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org).
The plan is to record four shows in September and launch the first one at the end of that month. Each show will be approximately 20 minutes long to start and will feature 4-5 songs, similar to one of my sets on Rock and Roll Report Radio. I am itching to get this thing going now that summer is rapidly fading away so make sure you check back here often and when the time has come, please subscribe to the podcast.
I am looking forward to having something cool to stick in your ear, if you know what I mean!
UPDATE! Just wanted to give a big thank you to all the bands, labels and PR people that have been so generous in wanting to get involved with the podcast. It looks like this is going to be a hell of a lot of fun as I already have all kinds of ideas about different show themes and features that should keep things fresh. And seeing that Apple has announced that the iTunes podcast directory now contains 125,000 podcasts I will have my work cut out for me to stand out in the crowd but I am up for the task! I’ll keep updating you on my progress as I get closer to the launch. In the words of Kent Dorfman, “this is going to be great!”
