Rolling Stone’s “Sixty-Second Rock and Roll Tour Across America”

physical-graffiti-house.jpgRolling Stone magazine has come up with a very cool use of the brand new Google Street View tool. They have used it to get shots of various rock and roll landmarks across America including the building on the cover of Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti and the Grateful Dead house in Haight-Ashbury. I didn’t know that the house on the cover of Physical Graffiti was the same house in the Stones’ “Waiting on a Friend” video, did you?

Very cool stuff and a great idea. If anybody else has some rock and roll landmarks they know of on Google Street View, send them in!

UPDATED! Rolling Stone has added Part 2 to the tour which includes the Fillmores East and West, the Chelsea Hotel, Bob Dylan’s New York apatment and CBGBs.

UPDATE #2! Rolling Stone have added The Beatles’ New York and  Bob Dylan’s New York to the mix.
