The Indie Music Assault, a unique, annual grass roots band competition benefitting the Fender Music Foundation has extended its deadline to April 15. The Top 10 bands chosen from entries received from across the U.S. and Canada will compete in front of a panel of indie music judges, including MC Assistant Editor Paula Munoz, for over $80,000 worth of recording, management and music video production opportunities. The event will be streamed live on the internet for a global audience. Emcee’s for the event will be “Blasko” from Ozzy Osborne’s band and Kade, a popular SoCal DJ from STAR 98.7FM. (From Music Connection) Skinnie Magazine, in association with Black Mountain Productions, Indie World Showcase Series, is presenting a unique competition/showcase, through an elaborate multimedia marketing campaign. For 9 months, say the organizers, “we will be inviting ALL independent rock acts to register for “Indie Music Assault.” This campaign will be promoted virally through the use of a “Vote for our band Widget”. The Top 10 bands chosen will be paid a gig fee for their performance in the competition, which will take place at in May at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.
