The “Berlin wall of rock and roll” has fallen. Pink Floyd reunite for Live8

If you ever wanted a good example of acrimony in rock and roll you never had to look any further than Pink Floyd. The infamous Roger Waters split with the band was brutal in its venom and it never really seemed to change in recent years but now the news comes that Waters will rejoin his band mates and Pink Floyd will fly as a cohesive whole once again and I for one say that’s cool. Sure they’re the greatest dinosaur band of all time but perhaps now the legend can be laid to rest with a last memorable performance by the “Dark Side of the Moon” era Pink Floyd in all their progressive rock glory. Now could you imagine if Syd Barret walked onto the stage? OK that would be considered a veritable rock and roll miracle but I will settle for Waters back in the Pink Floyd fold any time. Nice.
