In May, the Hold Steady will drop Heaven Is Whenever, their “less anthemic and more complex” fifth album. Rough Trade will release it in Europe on May 3, and Vagrant will drop it a day later in North America. And now the band has revealed that the image above is the album’s cover art.
It might look like Stars’ Set Yourself on Fire art, but it’s still pretty badass. This morning, there’s been some debate in the Pitchfork office as to whether it’s the first good Hold Steady album cover or just the first good one since Separation Sunday.
